All vehicles in countries in the Economic Community of West African States ECOWAS community will soon use similar number plates from one database.
This was revealed by the executive director of National Road Safety Commission, May Obiri Yeboah, in Koforidua. The GNA reports.
This move by the West African Road Safety Organisation (WARSO). and ECOWAS is to ensure safety on the roads and also check security.
The NRSC joined other West African counterparts to commemorate the 8 anniversary of the West African Road Safety Organisation (WARSO) which was held in Koforidua in the Eastern Region.

The theme for the anniversary was: "Empowering drivers and passengers to be safe on the road."
Obiri-Yeboah called on Ghanaians to be part of the campaign in reducing pedestrian knockdown in the country.
She added that the Commission is working in collaboration with the Ghana Education Service to make road safety education a subject in the curricula all in the bid to ensure safety on roads.
