2 die in bloody accident at Weija junction

Two people met their untimely death after a speeding truck on the Kasoa-Mallam Road run over them Tuesday evening due to brake failure.

Eye witnesses told Accra-based TV3 that the truck driver with registration number GN 8893-13 was speeding and not even a signal of a traffic warden could stop him.

The truck driver therefore rammed into some pedestrians who were about to cross the road at Weija Junction.

A lady in one of the cars has been rushed to the hospital.

Reports indicate that the accident has caused a heavy traffic jam on the Road

Officers of the Motor Traffic and Transport Department of the Ghana Police Service are said to have reached the scene and directing traffic.
