The father, Eldridge Dukes, told police that an argument broke between him and his 18-year-old son when he found that there was no orange juice left in the fridge at the family home in Baton Rouge, Louisiana.

But the dispute escalated when the 18-year-old broke a vase, which reportedly prompted Dukes to grab a handgun and chase his son down the street, allegedly shooting him three times.

The teenager was hit in the buttocks and suffered non-life-threatening injuries.

Dukes was booked into a local prison on charges of attempted manslaughter and illegal use of a dangerous weapon.
