Real Espana football Marlon Peña is in the news for attacking a pitc invader with a flying kick after a rectn game in Honduras.
This is ater a match between Club Deportivo Marathón and Real España at the Estadio Yankel Rosenthal in the north-west city of San Pedro Sula.
Though Marathón won game 2-0, they however could not progress to the semifinal of the Clausura tournament as Real España won the quarter-final 4-3 on aggregate.
Unhappy fans of Marathon stormed the pitch after the full time whistle and started attacking players from either side.
Marlon Pena who plays righ-back Real for Real España ran and attacked one of the opposition fans with a fly-kick to the head.
A Real Espana fan lost his life during the scuffle.
He was reportedly beaten up and hit with rocks before being shot and killed.
Real España issued a statement on Twitter, saying: “Real Club Deportivo España deeply regrets the death of a fan after the match this afternoon against Marathón. We condemn any act of violence and stand in solidarity with the relatives of the victim.”
