You can call it a mairacle. A 27 year old gardener suffered no eye damage after a three-inch nail accidentally hit his eye two years ago.

Luckily the nail was a millimetre away from the position it could cause real damage. It missed his eye ball, but was stuck at one of the main arteries that supplies blood to the brain.
"It reached almost to the tip of the other eye and the brain. It was a very long nail" said Dr Rajiv Gupta.
The nail was removed two months later by surgeons at the Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston. Fortunately, the gardener's vision is now perfect.
