According to King Tino, a Facebook user who shared the story on his timeline, the boy had tried to remove a phone while it was charging in a house in the night, not knowing that the owner was very much awake.

The man allowed the thief to slip his hand into the window and when it was well placed for a strike, he picked up a sharp cutlass and promptly chopped off the teenager's hand.

The boy reportedly ran away and left his severed hand behind. When he got home, his family had to rush him to a hospital for treatment and that was when the whole truth came out.
