Two athletics bodies dump track queen

Nigerian athletics sensation, Blessing Okagbare-Ighoteguonor, has been banned by the National Sports Commission (NSC) and the Athletics Federation of Nigeria (AFN).

This is following her refusal to participate in the 200m race, for Nigeria, during the just concluded IAAF World Championship in Beijing, China.

Reports say the ban is coming on the heels of Okagbare’s participation in the Zurich Diamond League on Thursday.

360nobs also reports that National Sports Commission (NSC) and the Athletics Federation of Nigeria (AFN), termed as unpatriotic, Okagbare’s announcement, that she will not represent Nigeria in the 11th All Africa Games in Congo.
