Dominika Cibulkova is one win away from a second WTA Abierto Mexicano Telcel title following her semi-final victory over Christina McHale.
Cibulkova defeated McHale 6-3 6-3 on Friday to book her spot in the decider in what was a rematch of the 2014 final in Acapulco.
The Slovakian broke five times on her way to victory in one hour, 18 minutes on the hard courts at the WTA event.
McHale hit five aces compared to Cibulkova's none but the American won just 37 per cent of her return points.
Cibulkova will now meet second seed Sloane Stephens in the final after her last-four win against Yanina Wickmayer.
Stephens, who is now 10-1 in 2016, needed just 54 minutes to get past her Belgian opponent 6-2 6-0.
The American was in dominating form, breaking six times and winning 24 of 28 first-serve points in the straight-sets victory.
Stephens and Cibulkova have only played each other twice before, sharing a victory each.
