The 43-year-old Rivaldo came back from retirement in July, 2014 with Mogi Mirim - a club where he is also president - battling against relegation.
Rivaldo made his return in a 2-1 win over Nautico where himself and his son scored a goal each in the game.
He just took to his Instagram to show off his injured leg after undergoing surgery.
"After these two days already admitted I'm home. I would like to first thank God because without Him we are nothing," he wrote on Instagram.
" and his entire staff for the care and dedication and Hospital St. Louis and nurses for looking after me so warmly.
'Thanks to everyone who prayed for me , who sent messages. God bless you guys greatly. God is faithful."
