Castleford Tigers have suspended winger Justin Carney with immediate effect.

The Super League club released no details about why Carney has been sanctioned, but have opened an internal investigation.

Carney arrived at The Jungle from Sydney Roosters in 2012, having previously played for Canberra Raiders.

The 27-year-old signed a new five-year contract with Castleford in April 2014.
