Eddie Jones will take a closer look at the fitness of Manu Tuilagi this week after the Leicester Tigers centre joined England's squad ahead of the Six Nations clash with Wales.

Tuilagi has not played for England since June 2014, but has recently returned after a serious groin injury sidelined him for 15 months.

The centre impressed in the Premiership at the weekend as the Tigers kept themselves in the hunt for a top-four finish with a 47-20 win over London Irish.

Jones had always hoped to have the back available for the Six Nations and included him in his elite squad, and Tuilagi will now have the chance to impress.

Along with Exeter Chiefs back row Dave Ewers, Tuilagi has been added to England's 33-man squad, with Luther Burrell, Ollie Devoto and Josh Beaumont missing out.

England are on course for their first grand slam since 2013 after three successive wins under Eddie Jones, a 21-10 triumph over Ireland on Sunday the latest of those victories.
