American tennis star earns business degree from Indiana University

American tennis player Venus Williams has earned a busniess degree from the Indiana University Easts.

The former women's tennis world number one on Friday, August 14 received her IU diploma, a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration, from the university.

The women’s tennis former World No. 1, who is currently ranked No. 11, enrolled in IU East’s online degree completion program in 2011 and completed her final online courses this summer according to Indy Starnewspaper.

“It was just a wonderful experience,” Williams told the newspaper.

“I love being a Red Wolf. I love this school, and I’m so happy to be a part of it.”

In an IU East press release, Williams said: “I’ve learned so much. It was always my dream to have a business degree, and I ended up going to art school so many times, but in the back of my head I felt like I needed the tools to be a better leader, to be a better planner, to be better at all of the things I wanted to do in my businesses because I’m so hands-on.

”This should surely help Williams grow her clothing line, EleVen, as well as the various other businesses and partnerships she’s involved in.

The 35-year-old has an associate degree in fashion design from the Art Institute of Fort Lauderdale in 2007.
