Fast-rising light welterweight boxer,
The 20-years-old Baby Face knocked out Waliu "Oganla" in the fourth of their eight-round national light welterweight challenge bout to win the best boxer at the best boxer at GOtv Boxing Night 11.
The event, which held at the Indoor Sports Hall of Obafemi Awolowo (formerly Liberty) Stadium in Ibadan on Sunday, March 26, 2017, also saw Baby Face clinching the Mojisola Ogunsanya Memorial Trophy.
The young boxer, who went pro barely two years ago after been discovered at the GOtv next gen boxing search, won the biggest cash prize ever won by a boxer fighting locally.
Previous winners of the award went home with N1million, but the prize was boosted for GOtv Boxing Night 11 by Adewunmi Ogunsanya, Chairman, GOtv Boxing, in honour of his late wife, Mojisola Ogunsanya, who died on 22 March, 2014.
In other encounters on the night, Ibadan-based boxer, Akeem “Dodo” Sadiku defeated Kazeem “KC Confidence” Saka in the first round of a national light middleweight challenge fight, while another Ibadan boxer, Sadiq “Happy Boy” Adeleke made light the work of Taiwo “Twin Warrior” Kareem, who fell in the second round.
Kabiru "KB Godson" Towolawi knocked out Adewale "Masevex" Masebinu in the third round of the light heavyweight duel, while Sule Tyson Olagbade recorded a seventh round knockout over Wahab Hammer Adebisi.
