Chinese people have always been some of the most innovative you can find anywhere. But they have also been known to conceive some of the most ridiculous ideas ever known to humanity.
According to a report in China Daily, two men in China’s eastern Jiangsu Province apparently tried to sell their kidneys to purchase Apple’s latest smartphone, the iPhone 6s. One of the men, simply identified as Wu, had wanted the phone but couldn’t afford it. His friend, another man identified as Huang, then suggested that they both sell a kidney each for the money.
According to the narrative, the two men found an illegal agent online who asked them to take medical examinations a hospital in Nanjing.

However, when they arrived at the hospital and the agent refused to show up as promised, Huang started to have a change of heart and told his friend, Wu that they should reconsider. Wu was not hearing any of it however, and when he refused to listen, Huang called the police, state-run China Daily reports. Wu apparently took off after that and has not been heard from since then.
This is not the first time Chinese people will do bizarre things for an iPhone. Two years ago, a Chinese couple put up their third child for adoption illegally, and used the money from the sale of their child to buy an iPhone, according to a report by NDTV Gadgets.
A year before that, a teen also reportedly sold his kidney to buy an iPhone and iPad. My question is, is it ever really that serious? Answer in the poll below.
