Admiral Kurt Tidd, commander of the U.S Southern Command on Thursday, March 10, 2016 confirmed that two male military officers were diagnosed with Zika virus.

Tidd added that both men who tested positive to Zika were stationed at Brazil and Colombia. He further noted that both men have since recovered from the virus.

Following the declaration by the World Health Organisation WHO that Zika virus is a global emergency, Google.org announced on March 3, 2016 that it would be donating a $1 million to fight Zika virus.
