Coronavirus Prompts CVS to Deliver Medications for Free
CVS Pharmacy is attempting to help its customers who are fearful or cant leave their homes due to the outbreak. According to a report from , CVS will be offering that their customers can receive free medication delivery.
The offer, starting immediately, is the latest innovation in the companys steps to help combat the outbreak of , which the has affected almost a hundred thousand people in 88 countries and killed 3,000, including 26 deaths in the U.S.
Aetna, a company associated with CVS, will be lifting early refill limits on 30-day prescriptions designed to address conditions that are considered to be chronic, such as hypertension and asthma. Those on Medicare or are associated with Aetnas health policies will also have the ability to receive a 90-day supply for prescriptions for those who suffer from those conditions.
The insurance company also plans to anyone's copays that are necessary for those to be for the virus. Any laboratory directly associated with the company's health plan will also offer testing to anyone needing to take the test.
In an official statement from the health company, Troyen Brennan, executive vice president and chief medical officer of CVS Health, said that this will help ensure patients of all ages have every option available to them when it comes to receiving their medication.
As long as COVID-19 to be a threat, Brennan said, well maintain a relentless focus on how best to serve our patients, members and customers.
