Everything We Know About Marvel's WandaVision Series
But before the show premieres, you might want some details about the upcoming series. Here's what we know about WandaVision.
WandaVision will premiere sometime in 2020.
It was previously reported that WandaVision would land on Disney+ in 2021, and that The Falcon and The Winter Soldier would be the only Marvel show to premiere in 2020. However, Disney recently confirmed WandaVision for a 2020 release in a YouTube video about upcoming releases.
WandaVision will follow Scarlet Witch and Vision after the events of Avengers: Endgame.
WandaVision primarily takes place after Endgame however, this would mean that Vision is still dead, so it seems probable that we'll see Wanda/Scarlet Witch explore multiple timelines in order to bring him back. And reportedly, a good chunk of the show will take place in the 1950's , and some of the show's promo photos feature Scarlet Witch and Vision in '50s garb.
The events in WandaVision will directly tie in to the upcoming Dr. Strange movie, titled Dr. Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, and Elizabeth Olsen also explained that the series would "explore why she's known as the Scarlet Witch and how she is Scarlet Witch as opposed to Wanda."
WandaVision's cast will include Elizabeth Olsen and Paul Bettany, as well as some other familiar faces.
Olsen and Bettany will reprise their roles as Scarlet Witch and Vision, respectively, while Marvel newcomer Teyonah Parris will play Monica Rambeau, the daughter of Maria Rambeau. Viewers might remember Maria as the best friend of Carol Danvers, aka Captain Marvel .
Also in the cast is the very funny Kathryn Hahn, who Feige called a "nosy neighbor" during Marvel's San Diego Comic Con panel. Hahn is coming off of a leading role in HBO's Mrs. Fletcher, and is also known for her memorable roles in movies like Bad Moms and Step Brothers, along with shows like Parks and Recreation.
Kat Dennings will play Darcy Lewis, a role she played in Thor and Thor: The Dark World, and Randall Park will reprise his role as Jimmy Woo, the FBI agent from Ant-Man and the Wasp.
