In October, director Martin Scorsese lobbed some critical mortars over at the MCU, calling them theme parks and not cinema in a classic "No true Scotsman" line. (Thats a fallacy, by the way.)

Speaking with Empire , Scorsese explained, I dont see them. I tried, you know? But thats not cinema. . . . It isnt the cinema of human beings trying to convey emotional, psychological experiences to another human being. Question begging? Damn, Marty, take a logic class. Or maybe, ya know, watch the movies youre criticizing?

Sebastian Stan (Bucky Barnes), recently defended his superhero work. All I know is that all movies affect people, the Marvel stars said in t he Mens Health January/February cover story . Ive certainly experienced firsthand many people who have been affected and helped by Marvel movies.

Stan said that his depiction of a broken, lost Winter Soldier has affected veteran communities, and noted how soldiers will come up to him and say how his performance helped them cope with their PTSD.

The role isnt a theme park for Stan who wants to do all his fans proud. Hes not here to condescend. They think we are these people, Stan explained, noting how often the celebrity and the personality entwine. All I can do is just try to be as honest as I can. And do my job.

One of Stans own film heroes? Martin Scorsese. That's kinda like how Peter Parker looked up to Tony Stark only to not feel loved. Thank God we have a movie that can convey this kind of emotional relationship between people.
