Tesla Might Release a Futuristic Cybertruck Camper
The hypothesis that a Tesla camper is on the way was first surfaced by auto publication Electrek, which recirculated an existing quote from Tesla CEO Elon Musk claiming that the company is creating a sick attachment for the Cybertruck.
Many car enthusiasts say the resurgence of tiny house living and movable homes is a trend Tesla would likely jump on with their new creation. Plus, the company released promo images of the Cybertruck which included the vehicle towing an angular trailer in its launch materials. Fans are taking that to possibly be the not-yet-confirmed camper.
Other Telsa fanatics are quick to point out that other press materials show the Cybertruck outfitted with a truckbed popup tent , making making a full-blown camper a natural progression. At the very least, it shows Tesla has portable homes on the brain.
The six-seat truck has a nearly impenetrable exoskeleton made of super strong stainless steel prevent dents, damage and long-term corrosion. The angular vehicle is also made of armored glass, though that feature memorably wasnt on display at the Cybertrucks unveiling . The truck has towing capability of more than 14,000 pounds, which brings us back to that camper theory. It might not be too far-fetched after all.
The vehicle, which is like a military vehicle meets kindergarten drawing, was revealed in late November by Tesla. Unlike the sleek Tesla Model cars to precede it, the Cybertruck is truly bold and boisterous.
But the Cybertruck still has a long way to go before hitting the streets as a consumer vehicle. Tesla may be taking a mere $100 deposits for the vehicle. It will cost a staggering $39,000-$69,900, depending on specs. But the design still needs basics added to it, like rearview mirrors and DOT-approved headlights , according according to GearPatrol. While Tesla says the truck should be deliverable by 2022, many are skeptical given Tesla's poor track record with keeping deadlines.
