Watch Dr. Pimple Popper Crack a 'Quail Egg' Cyst
This baby's about to burst. In a new Instagram video, Dr. Pimple Popper aka, dermatologist and TLC host Dr. Sandra Lee, MD pops an almost-black cyst out of a mans shoulder. And it may just remind you of a tiny little quail egg ready to crack.
In the clip, Dr. Lee squeezes the sizable cyst out of a small incision. The cyst comes out relatively easy and in one piece, which is a sight to see. But it does burst toward the end, giving some satisfaction to popaholic purists.
The resulting growth is about the size of a quail eggand looks like one, too. The coloring of the cyst has that blackish-tanish hue quail eggs are known for, though many fans have compared the whole procedure to resembling a baby crowning. You cant make this up, folks.
That was in my shoulder?! the patient asks Dr. Lee in disbelief after she presents the growth to him. Oh yes, it was.
The patient, however, did likely "birth" a collection of wet dead skin cells and keratin , which collect in this type of epidermoid cyst . Depending on the melanin content in a person's skin, the cyst contents can be darker in appearance, as in this case. Epidermoid cysts like this one often occur on the face, neck and body.
