Nepal authorities have confirmed that the mortality figure from the 2nd earthquake in the country now stands at 65, while 17 people in India were also killed in the quake and 1 person in China.

Meanwhile rescue and relief efforts have resumed as rescue teams tried to reach remote areas near the epicenter of the quake which is a rugged area of the district of Dolakha, east of the capital, Kathmandu.

Yesterday (Tuesday) evening, there had been reports that a United States military helicopter with 6 US Marines and 2 Nepalis aboard went missing.

Aerial and ground searches are underway for the helicopter, which had been helping with earthquake relief efforts when it lost contact.
