NFL star gets life in jail for murder

Former New England Patriots player Aaron Hernandez has been convicted of first-degree murder and sentenced to life in prison without parole for the killing of his friend, Odin Lloyd.

Odin Lloyd's body was found in an industrial park about a mile away from Hernandez's house with multiple gunshot wounds to the back and chest on June 18 2013.

Mr. Lloyd, a semiprofessional football player from Boston, had reportedly angered Mr. Hernandez which made him to murder him.

A jury consisting  of seven women and five men convicted Mr. Hernandez killing Mr. Lloyd, including sending two shots to Mr. Lloyd’s chest.

Hernandez's conviction is the latest episode of the off field violent behavior by many of NFL players.

The Bristol born convict awaits trial, for his murder charge of two men during a drive-by shooting in Boston in 2012.

The former footballer like in this Odin Lloyd case pleaded not guilty.
