Man drowns at Boti Falls

An American-based Ghanaian believed to be in his 40s has reportedly drowned at Boti Falls in the Eastern region.

The deceased, who is yet to be identified drowned on Tuesday around 3 pm but his body is yet to be retrieved, Accra-based Starr FM reports.

Eyewitnesses said that the victim had gone to the tourist site with his friends from America when the incident happened.

He was said to have drowned after trying to rescue one of his friends who was drowning.

Traditional leaders and locals have performed all necessary rituals to help the rescue team to retrieve the body but that is yet to be successful.

The police and management of the tourist site are yet to officially comment on the matter.
