In other to meet up with the international requirements for digital communication, the Government of Ghana has set a date for all broadcast outfits to migrate to digital broadcasting.
The deadline for migration to digital broadcasting has been set to March 2016.
Speaking on the latest development, Deputy Minister for Communications, Hon. Ato Sarpong said that “The new migration would enable all broadcasting houses transmit on one free platform instead of broadcasting on different platforms which would help reduce cost, time and energy.”
Sarpong also added that 'after the completion of the installation of the infrastructure, government would allow a one year period to enable the public purchase the required facilities for the migration.'
He also added that the first phase of the digital migration, will be completed in major parts of Accra by December 2015.
