Medical equipment such as SSD machines and others at the theatre are unable to work as a result of the salty water.
Speaking with DAILY GUIDE, the Medical Director of the Tema General Hospital, Dr Kwabena Opoku Adusei, explained that besides several challenges confronting the hospital, constant water supply is paramount.
According to him, attempt to mitigate the situation to get pipe-borne water running daily led to the drilling of boreholes by the previous administration of the hospital, in collaboration with National Security.
The hospital, Dr Opoku Adusei stated, occasionally goes to the extent of buying water from private tankers to rescue the situation but the Ghana GWCL had, however, blamed the problem on its inability to pump water through the hospital’s pipelines.
