Hull City's record signing Jake Livermore has tested positive for cocaine and will miss the remaining matches of this season

Hull City midfielder Jake Livermore has tested positive for cocaine following a random drug test last month.

The 25-year old was subjected to a drug test after Hull City's 2-0 win over Crystal Palace in April.

Livermore who joined Hull City last season in a club record £8million transfer has only missed one game this season.

He has now been banned from the two remaining matches of the currently season.

Hull has yet to comment on the development but has promised to do so as soon as possible.

Livermore started his career at North London club Tottenham and made his England debut against in a 2-1 win over Italy in August 2012.
