ECG installs Smart Pre-paid meters in Kumasi

The Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) has begun the installation of new Smart Pre-paid meters in Ashanti regional capital, Kumasi.

The new meter, according to Management of the ECG, comes with security features including, communication mechanisms and anti-tempering chip.

About 17 indigenous engineering companies have been contracted to foresee the installation of the over 1000 new smart pre-Paid meters.
