The Veteran striker made his Montreal Impact debut against Philadelphia Union which the Canadian side lost by a lone goal.

Drogba made news after his debut by becoming the first player to refuse questions from reporters in the history of MLS, now in its 20th season.

The 37-year-old instead directed media officials who asked for an interview to go through his publicity team.

The MLS who is very particular about open access of players are very angry with Drogba's actions.

In the MLS, reporters are invited into the locker rooms soon after the final whistle, a culture which is also seen in the NBA.

Basketball players are fined US$30,000 for a first offence if they avoid the media.

Though the MLS has not set a punishment for players avoiding the media, Drogba could also be fined.

Stars like David Beckham and Thierry Henry were not happy with the culture but later adjusted.
