The Miners have been without a coach for the past two weeks, since Bashir Hayford resigned from the post.

However, the club is on track to replace Hayford following talks with Dreams FC to poach their coach.

In a statement released on Tuesday, Dreams FC confirmed that CK Akonnor had been given permission to join Ashanti Gold, pending personal terms agreement.

“Dreams Football Club wishes to inform its fans and the general public of the board’s decision to grant a request from Ashanti Gold for the service of manger Charles K. Akonnor," a club statement read.

“The board took this decision on Monday following discussions with officials of the Premier League side who are making a request for technical assistance.

The former Hearts of Oak coach’s first task will be to lead Ashanti Gold out of the relegation places, with the club currently sitting at the bottom of the league log.
