Liberty striker Bernard Arthur not bothered about bench role
Bernard Arthur scored his first goal of the season with a powerful header after coming off the bench in last week’s crunch tie between Liberty and Inter Allies.

The striker is still waiting for his first league start, having been an unused substitute in the Dansoman-based side’s opening game against kotoko.
He is, however, not too bothered by his limited role, preferring to make good use of the little time he is afforded on the pitch.
“I’m not too bothered [about starting from the bench]. But I’m bothered to some extent as well [because I want to play more],” Arthur told Pulse Sports.
“But at the end of the day the coach knows his tactics and which players to choose. There are no blame games. I just want to keep focus and pray that when I get the chance [to play], I deliver.”
Arthur was in imperious form towards the end of last season; helping Liberty Professionals to avoid relegation. His exploits have led him being touted as a potential winner of this season’s top-scorer award.
However, he insists his sole focus is to help his side do well in the league.
“I don’t think about [winning] the goal king award. All my focus is on helping my team to either win the league or be in the top four. I like to score goals, but it doesn’t always happen that way. If my goals help the team, then I’m happy.”
Liberty Professionals travel to face Berekum Chelsea later on Wednesday and Bernard Arthur will be hoping to be handed his fist start of the season against the Blues.
