Graham DeLaet receives clubs after delay

It is hard enough just to qualify for The Open, but Graham DeLaet discovered getting one's tools to the United Kingdom can be just as tough.

DeLaet, who qualified for the major at St Andrews with a fourth-place finish at the Travelers Championship in June, arrived in Scotland no less than 54 hours before his luggage and clubs did.

The 33-year-old was then presented with his Titleist clubs - albeit they were covered in a dust-like substance, later revealed to stem from a bag of protein powder which exploded during the flight.

Fortunately for the Canadian, Titleist were able to supply him with a spare set for warm-up rounds.

DeLaet is paired alongside Brian Harman and Russell Knox for Thursday's opening round.
