Matthew Dellavedova re-signs with Cleveland Cavaliers
The Cavs confirmed the re-signing on Monday, with the contracted reported to be a one-year deal worth about $1.2million.
Dellavedova, Cleveland's back-up point guard, was captivating during the early games of the NBA Finals.
He drew praise for his performances in Games 2 and 3 of the Finals, the Cavs' only wins of the series against the Golden State Warriors.
He did a strong defensive job against NBA MVP Stephen Curry, who later seemed to figure out what was wrong and finished the series well.
The role was important because Kyrie Irving was out with a knee injury.
Dellavedova played in 67 games, most of them off the bench, during the 2014-15 season, averaging 4.8 points, 1.9 rebounds and three assists.
He appeared in all 20 games during the Cavs' Finals run.
