Undertaker retires from wrestling after losing at WrestleMania 33

Fans of the World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) were left stupefied after The Undertaker announced that his fight with Roman Reigns at WrestleMania 33 was actually his last.

The Undertaker – who previous record stood at 22-1 – has now lost just twice in 23 fights at WrestleMania after succumbing to Roman Reigns.

Having endured a clean sweep at WrestleMania with a winning streak stretching for 21 consecutive years, The Undertaker’s resolve was finally broken by Brock Lesnar at WrestleMania 30.

The ‘Dead man’ has been part of the WWE for nearly three decades, in a career that saw him win the World Heavyweight, WWE, World Tag Team and many other titles.

However, his decision to retire came as a surprise to many WWE fans, who watched on as he said goodbye to the crowd that have cheered him on for the better part of the last 27 years.

After losing his final wrestling match, The Undertaker left a memorable mark by leaving behind his gloves, hat and robe in the ring, before walking down the barricade to kiss his wife who was in attendance.

He then walked past the thousands of fans as they chanted ‘Thank you Taker!’

The Undertaker’s impressive WWE career ends with him losing just twice in 23 WrestleMania fights.
