Ethan Ampadu chooses Wales over Ghana

The Chelsea starlet has joined Wales for their FIFA World Cup qualifiers against Austria and Moldova

Ethan Ampadu was born to a Welsh mother and a Ghanaian father Kwame Ampadu- Arsenal youth team coach, who even played his international football for Ireland.

Ethan, 16 joined Chelsea from Exeter and Ghana’s dream of getting him on board to play for the Black Stars will be over if he gets a debut with Wales when they face Austria and Moldova.

Chris Coleman the head coach of Wales has so much confidence in the young defensive midfielder, so giving him the opportunity to join the likes of Gareth Bale, Aaron Ramsey in the national team.

Welsh captain Ashely Williams evidently shares this opinion on Ampadu.

“I wasn’t going to retire until I saw Ethan Ampadu in Portugal. He’s something else," said the Everton centre-back.

“I was watching him and I thought, ‘This kid is unbelievable’.

“He’s so young but if he carries on the sky is the limit for him. Even I’m thinking, ‘Ok, if he progresses how he should then he will be a natural replacement for me'
