The timing of the tour, the office of the former President said, will be discussed with the leadership of the National Democratic Congress (NDC).
It comes on the heels of an appeal made to Mr Mahama by the 10 regional chairmen of the NDC, for him to consider the tour, which was scheduled early this year.
The 10 include Kobina Ade-Coker, Greater Accra, Micheal Aidoo, Western; Alhaji Mumuni Bolnaba, Upper East, John K. Gyapong, Volta; Mr Opoku Atuahene, Brong Ahafo; and Matthew Song-Aabo, Upper West, Alhaji Sofo Azorka, Northern Region, Bismark Tawiah Boateng, Eastern, Yaw Obimpeh, Ashanti and the party's Central Regional Chairman Allotey Jacobs.
“Given that the former president had always wanted to thank Ghanaians for their support and cooperation during his tenure as both Vice President and President of the Republic of Ghana, and as reiterated during the meeting he will discuss the timing of the requested Thank You Tour with the leadership of the Party,” a statement issued Friday and signed by Special Aide, Joyce Bawa said Mahama clearly said.
