Agyemang Badu saddened by Kwadwo Asamoah’s recurring injuries

The Udinese striker has called on Ghanaians to say a prayer for his Black Stars team mate.

Agyemang Badu has expressed his deep concerns over the injury worries of Kwadwo Asamoah indicating that it is something that always saddens him.

Asamoah suffered a latest blow at training and missed Juventus’ 3-1 win over Fiorentina in the Serie A with a fresh muscle problem which has sidelined him for one month.

That was one of the injury troubles the Juventus midfielder has been going through since he suffered muscle tear in late 2014, forcing him to sit out of the 2015 Africa Cup of Nations staged in Equatorial Guinea and several serie A and UEFA Champions League games.

The midfielder who played together with Asamoah at Udinese, before the latter joined the Bianconeri in 2012 has stated that the recurring injuries of his Black Stars team mate is a worry to him.

“One thing I worry about is Kwadwo’s frequent injuries. I know what he has done for me as a player," he told Kasapa FM.

“Before I arrived at here (Udinese) he was already there. He accepted me in good faith; we used to eat together, go for training together, sleep in the same room and did several things together.

“He is a great talent that God has gifted Ghana, but has been battling with injuries. How much can one say about this, because the job we do is associated with injuries and I even had my own share last week when I had a knock.

“I know he will get over it. I have been talking to him and I know it is very hard for him, but I know him to be a strong guy. Injuries affect the form of any player, but when he returned playing against Lazio, he put up a good show.

“At the moment we all have to pray for Kwadwo Asamoah, because he is a national asset and Ghana needs people like him in our team and also we feel proud of him any time we see him play in the Champions League
