Ghana captain scores in Shanghai SIPG defeat

Gyan replaced Ivorian Jean Kouassi on 59 minutes and he grabbed the equalizer three minutes later after Ramires had given the visitors the lead in the 20th  minute.

Asamoah Gyan was on target for Shanghai SIPG on his return to action but his Chinese Super League side Shanghai SIPG lost 2-1 at home to Jiangsu Sunning on Saturday.

The Ghana captain came on as a substitute 59 minutes, scored the equalizer three minutes later after Ramires had given the visitors the lead in the 20th  minute.

Gyan controlled Wang Shenchao’s long cross from the right with his chest before slamming home with precision from inside the box.

He has now scored three goals in seven league appearances this season; having missed five matches due to injuries.
