Michael Essiens teammate at Persib Bandung Carlton Coles deal with the Indonesian outfit has been cancelled after failing to find the back of the net since joining the side.

Essien's former Chelsea teammate joined him at Persib Bandung in March with the expectations of turning things around for the side.

Cole has failed to live up the billing and has come under criticisms from the head coach of the club Umuh Muchtar who said in May that playing with the English international is like 10 against 11.

Muchtar now says Cole, 33, has played “very badly” and will be replaced for the second stage of the season, which starts on Saturday.

He said: “It’s the management’s decision to dismiss him, we will have a new player in the second round of the season.

“He plays very badly compared to the other (foreign players) who have joined Persib. He had the worst performance.”
