Several injured; 15 vehicles damaged in N1 Highway accident

Several people have been severely injured when an articulated vehicle rammed into about 15 vehicles on the George Walker Bush Highway popularly known as the N1 on Tuesday evening.

The driver of the articulated vehicle was said to have lost control after his brake failed and bumped into a vehicle in front of him.

According to Accra-based Joy FM, about 15 vehicles, including two taxis and other commercial vehicles were damaged due to the collision.

The accident, created heavy traffic from the Nyamekye Junction to the Kwashieman Traffic Light.

As at the time of filing this report, personnel from the Ghana Police and Fire Service were at the scene to clear the damaged vehicles and restore order.
