Addressing a mammoth rally in Tema Sunday, Nana Akufo-Addo said everywhere he has been to on the campaign trail, Ghanaians are yearning for change.
He said the call for change alone is not enough to change the Mahama administration, cautioning against apathy.
He said: "Everywhere I have been to, it is the name of the NPP they mention. But no one should think we have won the election already. We have not.
"I am begging you, all registered voters should make it a point to use his thumb to change the [Mahama administration].
"We are going to use our thumb to get the change that we need for the progress of our country.
"December seventh should be of utmost importance to all of us."
--Bawumia to make economy work--
Turning his attention to the economy, Akufo-Addo said Dr Mahamadu Bawumia as chairman of the Economic Management Team under his watch will turn around the economy.
He said he chose Bawumia as his running mate because he is a Muslim whose economic prowess is unparalleled.
"We are going to build a new economy in Ghana. We are going to build a new civilization in Ghana that is going to be the light of Africa and of the world, setting the task before us in our civilisation, making jobs, making good schools, pushing our children forward to make Ghana the beacon, the black star of Africa, that is our destiny, he said to loud cheers.
He also stressed that the NPP has men and women who can make the economy work again.
--I'll continue to beg voters--
Addressing President John Mahama, presidential nominee of the NDC, the NPP leader slammed his statement that he should stop begging for power.
According to him, he will continue to beg the electorate to cast their votes for him because power emanates from them.
"Let someone tell him [President Mahama] that I will continue begging for power," he said.
