Chief supports Nana Addo’s extra region promise

Speaking at his palace when Nana Addo paid a courtesy call on him at Wassa Akropong Tetrete Okuamoah Sekyim II said the realisation of such a promise was long overdue.

The Paramount Chief of the Wassa Amenfi Traditional Area, Tetrete Okuamoah Sekyim II, has welcomed the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) plan to create a new region from the Western Region.

The chief described the NPP’s idea as a good one that will bring the needed development to the northern part of the region.

Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo said at Juabeso in his five-day tour to the Western region, promised to create the 11th region out of the Western Region.

However, the Deputy Water Resources, Works and Housing Minister, Sampson Ahi, who’s also the MP for Bodi in the Western Region, rubbished his promise at a political gimmick.

According to him, the idea of the new region was never part of Akufo-Addo’s agenda, saying he made the promise because residents in the Northern part of the Western Region are yearning for it.

Tetrete Okuamoah Sekyim II finally called on a Nana Addo to appoint members from the western Region into his cabinet if he wins.
