The Convention People's Party(CPP) has presented its audited account to the Electoral Commission (EC), ahead of the commission's  May 31st deadline.

The Chairman of the party, Prof. Edmund Delle presented  the accounts and other documents in compliance with the Political Parties' Act. He did so together with other leaders of the party.

Prof. Delle said meeting the EC's deadline is indicative that the CPP is a serious political party.

"We have the men to work night and day to carry out tasks that we are given within the shortest possible time," he said.

He  urged the public not to compare the CPP to other smaller parties as it is one of the oldest. He said the party enjoys massive grass root support and will surprise Ghanaians in the upcoming elections.

"It is a party which is vibrant and will pull surprises in the upcoming general elections,"

The EC has indicated that it will enforce the Political  Party Act to the letter ahead of the November 7 polls. This is after the Commission came under numerous criticism for failing to implement the Political Party Act 574 2000. It has therefore vowed to sanction parties who fail to meet the May 31st deadline.
