EC strangely accepts PPP's filing fee

The PPP submitted their nomination form and filing fee despite initiating a court injunction preventing the EC from accepting the filing fee.

After refusing to accept the filing fees of some presidential hopefuls yesterday(29th September 2016)  due to an injunction from the court initiated by the  PPP's , the EC under very bizarre circumstances accepted the filing fee of the PPP today.

The National Chairman of the party, Nii Allotey Brew-Hammond and National Treasurer Felix Ograh presented the completed forms together with the 50,000 cedis of  filing fee on behalf of Dr Papa Kwesi Nduom.

An attempt to collect their money back  after realising the legal implication or otherwise of what they have done was rejected by the EC who argued that the PPP knew the implications of of their actions

Meanwhile Brew-Hammond argued that they presented the filing fee with the forms "because regulations indicated that all of the submission of nominations should be accompanied with the filing fee so we were complying with that.”
