Ronaldo powers Portugal to final

A goal and an assist from the Real Madrid star man sent Portugal to the final of the Euro 2016

The first half was an end to end action, with both sides failing to create plenty of goal scoring opportunities. Gareth Bale tested Rui Patricio in the Portuguese post but his shots went straight into his hands on two different occasions.

After the half time break Cristiano Ronaldo who was on the quit in the first half rose to the occasion by breaking the deadlock of the game in the 50 minute with a powerful header, before he put Nani through to score the second goal.

The goals scored by Ronaldo and Nani have helped them to go three goals each on the top scorers chat: They are now among the top scorers of the tournament.

This is the first time Portugal who failed to win a game in the group stage have won within 90 minutes of play.

Portugal who have qualified for their 2nd final in a major tournament will book a date with either France or Germany, who play in the other semi-finals game in the final of the competition on Sunday
