The Ghana Bar Association (GBA) has condemned Assin North Member of Parliament (MP), Kennedy Agyapong, for indicating that the Electoral Commission (EC) Chair traded her body for her position.

The Member of Parliament for Assin Central had recently on a campaign platform accused Mrs. Charlotte Osei of having sexual encounters with some bigwigs in the governing NDC to be appointed EC chair.

The comments did not go down well with some sections of the public, including many civil society organisations and women groups.

The Minister of Gender Children and Social Protection subsequently requested an apology from Mr. Kennedy Agyepong on behalf of the Chairperson of the Electoral Commission.

Meanwhile, the NPP is yet to make an official statement on the matter.
