An emergency meeting was held on Monday between the board and the management of the club in discussing a decision to overhaul the technical team of the club which was headed by coach Sarpong.
Dwarfs' return to the Premier League this season from Division One has been rocked by a run of poor results leading to the club's bottom place on the log. After 11 matches, the Cape Coast side have nine points, as a result of just two wins, three draws and a horrible six loses.
The club's hierarchy, fearing another possible drop to the lower division like two seasons ago with coach Sarpong, considered the pros and cons of their decision to sack the coach before an official announcement was made.
Club president and former chairman of the GFA, Nana Sam Brew Butler, board secretary and GFA exco member J.F. Mensah, together with C.E.O Nana Aidoo and Operations director John Ansah among other members were present at the closed door meeting.
Sources close to the club revealed to Pulse.com.gh that coach J.E. Sarpong's two years contract had expired but he was working on mutual agreement with no new contract offered.
This means the club will not suffer harsh compensation packages from the termination clause in a written contract, according to information reaching Pulse Sports.
The sources also revealed that former Nania FC and Wa All Stars coach, Jimmy Coblah and two other foreign coaches are been considered to replace J.E. Sarpong.
