Kotoko share the spoils with Medeama

The Porcupine Warriors failed to secure their first league victory of the season after Medeama held them to a 2 all.

Medeama came twice from behind to deny the hosts victory and run away from Kumasi with at least a point.

Benneth Ofori shot Asante Kotoko into the lead, after he benefited from a goalkeeping blunder from Michael Sai.

The game was hit by controversy after, referee Prosper Adii, refused to return onto the field for an alleged assault by the fans of Asante Kotoko.

However, Malik Akowuah struck the equalizer for the Yellow and Mauves side from a spectacular freekick and there were no further goals in the first half.

Kotoko back from recess restored their lead in the 50th minute through Michael Yeboah from another blunder, but Bismark oppong brought Medeama into the game in the 74 minute, after coming on from the bench.

Medeama following the equalizer stamped their authority on the game and created numerous goal scoring opportunities, but they failed to breach the Kotoko defence to get the match winner.

The Kotoko fans would be happy for the 2-2 all, since the away side managed to threaten their goal line, but were unfortunate not to have secured a victory.

Both Kotoko and Medeama are still searching for a victory in the ongoing league, so it wasn't surprising the game was an end to end action that gave either side a point.
