The Black Stars winger’s good start to his Newcastle Premier League career has rewarded him a place in the team's player of the month shortlist

Christian Atsu has been nominated for the Newcastle United Player of the month of August following a splendid start to the 2017-18 Premier League season.

The Ghana international was the most effective Newcastle United player in their 0-2 home defeat to Tottenham Hotspur.

And again put up a sensational display to propel the Magpies to a 3-0 win against West Ham United, assisting the opener and gave Pablo Zabaletta torrid time.

Christian Atsu was shortlisted alongside Ciaran Clark and Mikel Merino for the Newcastle United player of the month of August.
