Man jailed for marrying step daughter in addition to the mother

The court heard that the convict who is also known by the name, Christopher Buckley married 18-year-old step daughter, Kaylee Durovick less than a year after marrying the mother, Shannon Deitrich in 2015.

The aforementioned charges proffered against Christopher I. Hauptmann stem from the fact that he married his step daughter in addition to the legally married mother without divorcing the latter first.

The New York Times reported that the illegality came to the notice of authorities when he applied for a concealed weapons permit under the last name, Buckley in 2016.

The news portal said an official suspected a similarity between details of the names, Hauptmann and Buckley. Further examinations confirmed that the fingerprint of Hauptmann was the same as that of Buckley.

He did not raise any objection whatsoever to the charges, and was sentenced to a year minus a day to two years minus a day in prison.

His 43-year-old Shannon Deitrich testified against him in court, and interestingly, he remains married to the step daughter, but has been ordered not to contact his first wife.
