Injunction placed on GFA elections

The Fast Track Court 3, a division of the High Court in Accra has put a restraining order on the upcoming elections of the Association.

The Fast Track Court 3 has put a restraining order on the elections of the Ghana Football Association (GFA), which was slated for August 17 in Tamale.

Emmanuel Bright Atoko, lawyer for the plaintiffs - John Kwame Quayson and Winneba-based Dynamic Heroes went to court to seek for an injunction, suggesting that the rules and regulations of the Football Association has been skewed to favour President Kwesi Nyantakyi, who is seeking re-election.

He confirmed the news to Kasapa Sports.

“We went to court for an injunction on the impending elections, and the court said yes indeed we had raised an issue and for which reason an injunction be granted to restrain the Ghana Football Association acting through the President from further continuing with the election so until the court decides otherwise.

“As we speak now, there is an injunction on the elections.”

The GFA has since been served.
